Poets send 4 to the AHSAA State Wrestling Tournament

The Poet’s Wrestling Team will be sending 4 members to Huntsville on Thursday, Friday & Saturday to battle for a State Championship. Ruben Garrison 152lbs weight class with a  25-6 record.             Brandon Lowery 160lbs weight class with a 25-7 record. LaDontay Garrison 170lb weight class with a  29-0 record,

Poets place @ Barry Mask

The Poet’s Wrestling Team competed in the Barry Mask Wrestling Tournament at Wetumpka High School Dec. 28th & 29th. Ladontay Garrison (20-0) placed 1st in the 172lb Weight Class. Ladontay also won the Best Match of the Tournament Award by with way of an OT victory to secure 1st place. Reuben Garrison (17-3) placed 3rd in the 154lb Weight

Poets Defeat Catholic & PCA

The Poet Wrestling Team defeated Catholic HS 36-24 & Prattville Christian Academy 42-34 to improve their team record to 3-2 on the season. The Poets will battle again on Tuesday Dec 6th at Stanhope Elmore High School.  

Wrestling Team Earns Victory over St. James HS

The Lanier Wrestling Team won 6 out of 10 matches against St. James High School Lanier beat St. James HS as a Team 42-30 Reuben Garrison 3-0 won by Pin in the 1st period. Brandon Lowery 4-0 won by Pin in the 1st period Ladontay Garrison 4-0 won by Pin in the 1st period Michael

The Poets Wrestling Team will be in action on Tuesday November 22 @ Wetumpka HS.  The Poets will be wrestling Wetumpka  HS & Carver HS in a Tri-Match, start time will be 5:30, please come out and support.

Lanier Wrestling Back to the Mat

After a seven-year hiatus, the wrestling  squad at Sidney Lanier High School is making a comeback.
